Initial situation

On the way to the French market

 

Founded in 1996, SourceNext is a company quoted on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, whose goal was initially to support companies in marketing their applications and software in Japan. Over time, their expertise in user experience, marketing, and customer support has made them the No.1 software publisher and distributor in Asia. And with the launch of their voice-to-voice translation device, Pocketalk™, SourceNext is looking to transcend borders by bringing their new product to the world. 

Struggling to enter the ultra-competitive French market, especially as its brand was little known in Europe, SourceNext called on us to access this new market through a unique marketing approach.

We deployed a turnkey solution to start from 0 to 100 sales/monthly

 

As a Japan-based company and despite already being well established in their home market and in the rest of Asia, SourceNext had never been present in Europe before, and therefore had little knowledge of the French market.

Therefore, our mission was to open the doors of Europe to SourceNext, starting with France. For that, we managed the logistics, the fulfillment and the related administrative tasks. In short, we took care of all the marketing operations.

 

Initially, to test the market, we made the first version of the product available: the Pocketalk W. Following the impressive performance of this product, we subsequently followed up with the second version: Pocketalk S.


To make SourceNext's products more visible in Europe, so as to improve their sales performance, we presented them to our retail partners in order to market them in the biggest retail stores in France. We also made demos, as well as videos and live shows for social media to make the product known and understood by the customers.

Product

 

To enable SourceNext to continuously improve its products, we have regularly provided them with market information, customers' feedback and valuable advice from our marketing experts.

Place

 

We have removed all administrative and commercial barriers to allow Pocketalk to have national coverage by making it available through all our retail partners, as well as on the main marketplaces. We have also made training videos for in-store salespeople to improve their understanding of the products.

 

Promotion

To democratize the Pocketalk, back then very little known by French customers, we organized various operations such as demos in stores, promotional videos in order to boost its sales on the market and make it known to consumers.

 

Price

One of Pocketalk's obstacles was its price much higher than the one of its competitors but which was justified by the quality of the product. To make it profitable, we marketed it as a premium product, by creating a brand image for it that is superior to that of our competitors.
